Bilstein “Sport” Shock Absorbers (front pair)

These aftermarket Bilstein 4600 Series Shock Absorbers were designed specifically for the SSR as a result of the “fleet need” feedback from Simple Engineering.  Simple Engineering provided an SSR as the test platform for Bilstein Engineering in early 2018 to prove the fit and ride.  They became available in December 2019.

They are a direct fit with a really nice solid ride quality. The valving and damping of these units is significantly different than OE Bilstein.  According to Bilstein Engineering, they improved the damping and valving internally to get a “much more positive ride” than the OE units.  I have had both on my SSR and have labeled them as “Sport” because of their firm ride.  They are definitely a performance enhancement.

Please note that these are more firm than the Bilstein 24-103336 that I refer to as “Touring”.  I highly recommend them for installation with Eibach, Ground Force or Belltech aftermarket front lowering springs.  If installing with aftermarket front lowering springs, please be sure that the bump stops on the shocks have had about 3/4″ trimmed off the fat end.

These front shocks fit directly to the SSR, just as they come out of the box, and do not require any modifications or special instructions. As always……. If you are unhappy with these for any reason, just return them and I will be happy to provide a full refund.

⚠️ NOTE: Worn strut mounts can adversely affect a vehicle’s safety and handling so we recommend replacing them with Moog K6702 or specified shock mounts from other manufacturers when replacing your front shocks.
